Always Praise

This has always been one of my favorite images.  It is of my daughter Carrie in a posture of praise.  That, in and of itself, is a delight of any godly father to observe.  However my delight is lifted even higher seeing the storm clouds overhead.  It is one thing praising our Father during clear skies, but quite another wonderful thing praising in the midst of life’s storms.  And they do come, don’t they?.  Perhaps it is your turn to stand tall with arms lifted high, demonstrating your trust in your father.  I love these words of Jesus, “I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world” (John 16:33).   There is another important element in this picture that only I can see and you can’t.  It is the fact that my daughter has a broken back in this picture.  She had crushed her L4 vertebrae in a horseback riding accident 7 months prior to this picture being taken.  It was a scary time for my family, but it was most difficult for my daughter.  I look at this picture and am reminded how good Jesus is.   We worshiped him through the days we weren’t sure she would be able to live a normal life and we worshiped him for the gift of healing.  We don’t worship Him because he makes our storms go away, we worshiped Jesus because He is worthy of our worship, and He alone has overcome the greatest storm of all – death.  And now you and I can have courage and hope during all storms of life.   Praise Him!!!
