Yearning

One day in mid December I made this picture my computer background.  It was cold and my heart desired what this picture represented to me.  It’s a picture I took while Laurie and I visited Galveston last October. I can still feel the warmth, hear the roar of the waves and smell the sea air as I gaze upon it.  This yearning reminds me of a deeper stirring within me of a much deeper desire.  My yearning for God.  That hunger is driven primarily by the cold and dark world I find myself in.  I wonder, can anyone relate to this?  A desire to be near to God and away from the cold dark worldliness that has overstayed it’s visit.   Therefore, may your hearts be encouraged by this picture. God has given us many beautiful paintings in His Word to encourage our hearts for days that are discouraging.  Like this one in John 16:33, I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”

If you are needing a break from the cold and dark world type “yearning” in the comments below and I will pray for you.
